HCS 3000 provides learners the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge about health and safety in a variety of life and work situations. The course also provides opportunities for assessing learners’ ability to apply their knowledge about safety in a variety of workplace, home and other situations. Students will gain the attitudes, knowledge and skills related to workplace health and safety and examine relevant legislation required in the workplace. HCS 3000 is a pre-requisite course for all off-campus learning experiences. 

Course Details and Assessment

This course consists of 4 Units and a final exam. Each unit has a vocabulary activity to build background knowledge of the content as well as guided notes to focus reading/listening on key ideas throughout each unit. At the end of each unit there is a quiz, use the key vocabulary and guided notes to prepare for the quiz.
