Learning Outcomes:
  • Applications [A] • Students will use Chinese in a variety of situations and for a variety of purposes.
  • Language Competence [LC] • Students will use Chinese effectively and competently.
  • Strategies [S] • Students will know and use strategies to maximize the effectiveness of learning and communication. ​
The goal for students taking the course Chinese Language and Culture is so that students will  have the following skills:
  • To be able to effectively  use good translation apps.
  • Understand the difference between Cantonese and Mandarin.
  • To be familiar with the main features of the Chinese language.
  • To know and be able to express phrases that will be helpful to students when travelling to China.
